Quality Living and Support Services (QLSS) is proud to announce that we are registered under the new mandatory NDIS Registration Code 0138 – Supported Independent Living (SIL), effective from 1 July 2026.
This achievement means QLSS has met the enhanced registration and compliance requirements introduced by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission and can continue delivering high-quality Supported Independent Living services to our participants.
What Has Changed?
The NDIS Commission has introduced significant reforms for Supported Independent Living providers across Australia.
From 1 July 2026, providers delivering Supported Independent Living supports are required to be registered with the NDIS Commission under the new Registration Group 0138 – Assistance with Supported Independent Living.
The new registration category has been specifically created for SIL services and includes additional compliance and quality assurance requirements.
Importantly, these changes mean that unregistered providers can no longer provide SIL services under the NDIS. The reforms are designed to strengthen participant safeguards, improve service quality, and ensure providers have appropriate systems, governance, and practice standards in place.
What This Means for QLSS Participants
For current and future QLSS participants, it’s business as usual.
Our successful registration under the new 0138 SIL registration group means:
– QLSS can continue providing Supported Independent Living services beyond 1 July 2026.
– Participants can be confident they are receiving supports from a fully registered NDIS provider.
– Our services continue to meet the NDIS Commission’s quality and safeguarding requirements.
– Participants, families, Support Coordinators, and allied health professionals can continue referring to QLSS with confidence.
Our Commitment to Quality and Compliance
Achieving registration under the new SIL framework required QLSS to demonstrate compliance with the NDIS Commission’s registration requirements, including certification audits, the NDIS Practice Standards, and the new supplementary SIL Practice Standards.
This registration reflects our ongoing commitment to delivering safe, person-centred supports that help people with disability live as independently as possible within their homes and communities.
Looking Ahead
The introduction of mandatory registration for SIL providers represents an important step in strengthening quality and safeguards across the disability sector.
At QLSS, we welcome these reforms and are pleased to be among the providers that have successfully met the new requirements from day one.
We look forward to continuing to support participants to achieve their goals, build independence, and enjoy greater choice and control in their daily lives.
