QLSS is a Registered NDIS SIL Provider we are subject to high-quality standards and independent audits, suitability assessments, reporting requirements and worker screening checks.

SIL providers deliver in-home supports so that people with a disability get help or supervision to live as independently as possible, including in shared accommodation. It may involve personal care and other daily tasks such as showering, dressing, cooking and cleaning.

We will require the following prior to recruitment: 

  • Certificate III / IV in Individual Support, 
  • Australian Driver’s License, 
  • Comprehensive Car Insurance (Business Use), 
  • First Aid Certificate, 
  • CPR Certificate, 
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check, 
  • Working with Children Check (Blue Card).

To provide our clients with the best service, with the greatest flexibility, we are seeking qualified applicants with Cert III in Individual Support (Disability). This course is availble from TAFE Queensland and other accredited training providers.

You will need a current copy of your CPR & First Aid Certificates.

  • HLTAID009 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) Course & Certification: This certification is valid for one year and it is a requirement that it is renewed annually. This practical training course covers the knowledge and skills required to provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) including how to respond to and manage cardiac and breathing-related emergencies through the application of DRSABCD and CPR.
  • HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid (Includes CPR) Course & Certification: First Aid certifications are required to be renewed every 3 years. Most training providers will combine this with the CPR course above. This training will enable you to respond to and manage first aid incidences, providing care until qualified emergency help arrives.

Yes, you will need your own vehicle for this role. Approved travel is recorded via an NDIS record of service and approved mileage is reimbursed to you.

Additional vehicle requirements are:

  • A current/valid Australian Drivers Licence
  • Comprehensive Car Insurance that specifies you are able to use your vehicle for Business Use. Read More >

To work or volunteer with adults or children with disabilities in Queensland, you will need a disability worker screening clearance – No Card, No Start. If you currently hold a valid NDIS worker screening clearance issued in another state or territory in Australia, you do not need to reapply for an NDIS worker screening clearance in Queensland.

You will need both a disability worker screening clearance (NDIS or Queensland disability worker screening) as well as a blue card or exemption card. Workers who need both checks can apply for both checks together. Visit https://www.workerscreening.qld.gov.au/ to make a combined application.
